Technical Gases

Pure Gases under pressure

Pure gases are used in many processes and applications, e.g. oxygen in steel production, argon as a protective gas, as well as acetylene for welding, nitrogen for inerting, carbon dioxide in the beverage industry, or hydrogen for various applications. Reciprocating compressors are also used in such circumstances for the compression of gas during transport, storage, processing, and/or use. With its wide range of products and services, HOERBIGER Compressor Technology plays an important role here as well.

Technical Gases

Pure or defined gas mixes are required by many industries and in various processing
applications. Such gases are produced in big facilities, such as the following:

  • Carbon dioxide (CO2), e.g. in the beverage industry
  • Oxygen (O2), e.g. in the steel industry
  • Nitrogen (N2), e.g. in the fertiliser industry
  •  Acetylene (C2H2), e.g. as a welding gas
  •  Argon (Ar), e.g. as a protective welding gas
  • Helium (He) e.g. for helium lasers
