HOERBIGER ::

Reed valves

for air and gas, air brake and refrigeration compressors

HOERBIGER Reed valves have low clearance volume and long service life and are virtually maintenance-free. They are especially suitable for extreme conditions and are designed to operate with a low noise level and absolute reliability.

In this type of valve the suction and discharge valve components and reeds are combined on a single seat plate.

Seat plate
Accurate flatness and fine surface finish guarantee minimum valve leakage. The plate is configured for optimum fit to the compressor.

Suction reed
Pressed from high quality materials for low stress development and subjected to specialized finishing processes, the suction reed largely determines the service life and efficiency of the valve.

Discharge reed
Careful calculation and configuration of this important working component, taking into account the mass to be moved and the spring characteristics required, guarantee reliable valve opening and closing at the calculated times.

Discharge guard
The profile determines the valve lift and therefore the passage area of the discharge valve. Accurate setting and maintenance of the tolerances has a major effect on the service life of the valve.

HOERBIGER Reed valves are special valves

designed, engineered, and manufactured in close collaboration with our customers throughout the development process. They take into account the specific compressor operating conditions. The result of this collaboration is a homogenous unit of compressor and valve.
This gives HOERBIGER reed valves an unique advantage in design, operation, and quality.
