HOERBIGER ::

Hybrid Direct Drive Linear - HDDL

New standard for punch drives

HOERBIGER Advanced Punching System HDDL

Up to 1,300 strokes per minute during stamping operations with a positioning accuracy of less than 0.01 millimeters – these are the new industry standards when it comes to stamping. At the EUROBLECH 2008 hold from October 21 to 25 in Hanover, HOERBIGER Automatisierungstechnik GmbH, Altenstadt, Germany, will unveil the newly developed punch drive, Hybrid Direct Drive Linear – HDDL. The innovative concept of the punch drive, which will go into series production in 2009, is patented internationally for HOERBIGER.

For machine tools in sheet metal working, productivity, precision and efficiency are increasingly gaining in importance. The most remarkable feature of the CNC stamping press of tomorrow is its high stroke rates during stamping, nibbling, and marking, thus ensuring a low cost per unit.

With a positioning accuracy of less than 0.01 millimeters, the HOERBIGER HDDL punch drive achieves up to 1,300 strokes per minute in stamping operations and 3,000 strokes per minute in marking operations. These are new standards for precision and productivity.

The concept of the Hybrid Direct Drive Linear - HDDL – blends the dynamics and precision of servo-electric linear drive technology with the power density and stability of hydraulics. Web control and positioning accuracy of the stamping axis enable the production of high-precision parts with minimal noise levels.

The high-performance linear motor, which is cooled by hydraulic fluid and was developed specifically for this application, does not require dedicated rotor bearings and therefore operates contact-free. The direct coupling to the hydraulic amplifier guarantees maximum stamping dynamics and positioning accuracy. The internal mechanical feedback of the tappet position is carried out in directly linear fashion and therefore absolutely without time lag.

Dynamic – precise – reliable!

  • Maximum punching dynamics for high productivity:
    Punching up to 1300 strokes/min. with 3 mm stroke;
    Marking up to 3000 strokes/min.
  • Maximum positioning accuracy for high-precision parts:
    positioning accuracy <0,01 mm.
  • Maximum reliability and service life due to intelligent design.
  • Noise reduction through full and highly dynamic control of the tappet movement.
  • Minimal energy consumption for low operating costs and protection of the environment through optimized energy management.
